Neighbors,
Just returned from the Crestview Station Zoning hearing in front of the Planning Commission. D.R. Horton Homes had requested several changes to the zoning for their part of the Crestview Station development, which abuts Morrow and the RR tracks. The results were not all that we asked for, but partially. The Planning Commission sends their recommendation from tonight's hearing to the city Council, where the final decision is made. So, we need to do better at the City Council meeting Nov 10th.
The Planning Commission recommended keeping a 1000 vehicle trip limit impact on Morrow from CV Station. Yeah!
They recommended gated emergency vehicle access to CV Station from Morrow. This is better than the general vehicular traffic access D.R. Horton requested, but we will be fighting every few years to keep it closed to general traffic. The better solutions are no access from Morrow so it can't be opened at a later date, or emergency access with restrictions that make it forever unsuitable to car traffic. An example of this would be only one gated emergency entrance that is only one lane
wide without space to expand, and is designated as a bike pedestrian path.
I want to thank all the neighbors who came down to City Hall tonight and the ones who couldn't, but sent me emails.
Hope to see you Nov 10th in front of City Council.
